The San Jose Peace and Justice Center is comprised of people with a wide range of interests, points of view, and talents. If you’d like to join with us to work for peace, please contact us and we’ll help you find your niche. All are welcome and encouraged to participate in any and all activities sponsored by the SJPJC and our partners.
Ways to Get Involved
Call (408) 297-2299 or write sjpjc[at]anjosepeace.org to let us know how you would like to help. Which task meets your interests and skills?
Volunteer Your Time (hourly commitment)
As needed 4 – 6 hours a month or more
Set up a table at an event with SJPJC materials and engage passers-by at the event. This position requires someone who enjoys talking to people and will encourage their involvement.
3 – 5 hours per week
Welcome visitors. Answer the phone, write thank you notes. Help maintain our lending library and office space.
Evenings, or weekends as needed. Call SJPJC supporters and community folks interested in social justice issues to inform them of upcoming events and other timely info. If you enjoy talking to people on the phone, this is the job for you.
Photography & Journalism
Articles and photos needed on a regular basis for the SJPJC Web site and every 4 months for the Peace Times newsletter. Document the events and activities of the SJPJC and its member groups with your camera and/or pen, and submit your work to the newsletter editor, or to the SJPJC Web site.
Help Publicize Events
On call 2–3 hours a week as event date approaches.
Send announcements to news outlets, radio, television and online calendars via email and fax. Generate and send press releases for special events. Follow-up announcements with phone calls when appropriate. Design and produce event flyers.

Donate to the Peace and Justice Fund
Support 50 years of nonviolent social change! Pledge a monthly gift to the San Jose Peace and Justice Center to support our educational programs and war resistance work. We are counting on you to create a reliable income from which to continue our work, plan future endeavors and continue to grow.
Our hope is that to commemorate our 50 years of activism, 50 supporters will sign up to be sustainers, making a contribution of at least $10/month. This pledge can conveniently be done on-line, mailed in or dropped off.
Your tax-deductible donations are critical to our ongoing work for peace and social justice. Note that the Donate button takes you to the page for the Collins Foundation, our fiscal sponsor. This ensures that your donation is tax-deductible.
