Our friends at Silicon Valley Debug publish a terrific magazine. You can download the latest issue and read new articles at their web site.
El Observador, available free in newstands or from their web site is a weekly newspaper in English and Spanish covering issues that are important to the South Bay Latino community.
Radio
You probably already know about KPFA-- 94.1 FM -- if not, check it out!
KPFA broadcasts on 94.1 FM and KPFB 89.3 FM, Berkeley, and KFCF 88.1 FM, Fresno, California. On Comcast cable, you can find KPFA on Channel 967.
KKUP 91.5 FM is the South Bay’s community- supported radio station.
Besides some great music shows, KKUP broadcasts public affairs programs with a progressive orientation:
A Meeting of the Ways – Sundays from 5 to 6 p.m. Celebrating diversity, the varieties of religious experience, peace & justice, and the sacred music of the World. Hosted by Diane Solomon
Block to Block -- Wednesdays, 9 to 10 a.m. A community based (call in) talk show that spotlights neighborhood issues and showcases local events. Classic soul and R&B music set the mood for the show. Hosted by Mr. David Madrid (Also on first and third Saturdays from midnight to 3 a.m.
Conversations—Wednesdays, 9 to 10 p.m. Interviews dealing with issues of war and peace, women and men, death and taxes, art and culture.
Labor News and Latin Views—first Sundays, 3 to 5 p.m. Labor and human rights issues with a little Latin music. Hosted by Lars Bourne
Television
Other Voices (Meaningful television...for a change) is a project of the Peninsula Peace and Justice Center. The half-hour show on important political topics is broadcast llive on the first tuesday on Mid-Peninsula Cable Channel 27 and Rebroadcast throughout the month on Channel 27: Sundays, 12:00 noon; Tuesdays, 7:00 p.m.; Wednesdays, 2:00 a.m., 11:00 a.m. and 10:00 p.m.; Thursdays, 5:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m. The PPJC web site has a complete archive of the TV shows.
Arab TV is a 30-minute weekly TV program about the Arab heritage, culture and activities as loyal Americans. ATV is open to include programs about other groups of the community. The program is broadcast every Thursday at 8:30 pm on the San Jose COMCAST Community Channel number 15 and various episodes online. Arab TV is a project of the Arab-American Cultural Center of Silicon Valley.
