Madhuresh Kumar is National Organizer, National Alliance of People's Movements (NAPM). He is responsible for campaigns and policy advocacy around communities’ control over land, water, forest and minerals; issues of displacement, energy projects, special economic zones; resource mobilisation; and national organisational co-ordination of the Alliance. 

. He has collaborated with Jai Sen and Peter Waterman in the editing and compiling of books and readers on the World Social Forum including "World Social Forum: Challenging Empires" and A Political Programme for the World Social Forum? He is also the author of Globalisation, State Policies, and Sustainability of Rights and of a chapter titled “Forest Rights Act and Polemics of Correcting Historical injustices” in Sabyasachi Basu, Ray Chaudhury & Ishita Dey (eds.) Sustainability of Right After Globalisation. He has also contributed to “From Compensation to Rehabilitation: People's Protests and Policy Shifts” in Nilanjan Dutta (ed.) Beyond Developmentalism. His most recent book as co-editor is Elina F and Juergen W titled, “Social Movements and Resistance in India”.
