Take a visual tour of farmworker lives, as Dr. Ann Aurelia Lopez introduces participants to the migrant experience on both sides of the Mexican American border. Dr. Lopez is the Director for the Center for Farmworker Families and the author of The
Farmworker’s Journey. In her book, she weaves together 10 years of intimate interviews with
farmworkers and extensive economic research. She illustrates the dark side of globalization, and
gives a rare insider's view of the migrant experience that stretches from west-central Mexico to
central California. Copies of her book will be available for purchase and signing at the event.
Please note: This is a free event . All staff, faculty and students are welcome to attend. LEAD students will be on hand to collect gently used clothing and monetary donations for the Farmworker Families in Watsonville, CA
