|Please join us for a VIP Reception with Dolores Huerta!
Dolores found her calling as an organizer while serving in the leadership of the Stockton Community Service Organization (CSO). During this time, she founded the Agricultural Workers Association, set up voter registration drives and pressed local governments for barrio improvements. It was in 1955 through CSO founder Fred Ross, Sr. that she would meet a like minded colleague, CSO Executive Director César E. Chávez. The two soon discovered that they shared a common vision of organizing farm workers, and went on to co-found the United Farm Workers Union, leading strikes and boycotts, negotiating contracts and leading political campaigns.
Proceeds from the VIP Reception will benefit the Dolores Huerta Foundation. The Dolores Huerta Foundation is a non-profit 501c (3) corporation. The Foundation’s goals are to empower neighborhood residents to address their concerns and issues for positive change regarding creating economic development, education, youth development and healthy neighborhood environments.
