Waleed Alkohlani, PhD is a computer engineer in Silicon Valley who immigrated from Yemen to pursue higher education. Because of family connections he has followed the crisis in Yemen closely through Yemeni and regional sources, as well as through friends and relatives in Yemen. He has studied how sectarian differences in the region have fueled regional conflicts.
