Have the lives of poor Americans, women and blacks improved in the 50 years since Martin Luther King led the original Poor People's Campaign?
An extensive investigation into the current status of all Americans using primary data and personal interviews has found a significant number of Americans are struggling with the connected evils of persistent poverty, systemic racism, increasing militarism, and ecological devastation. Therefore a national movement of over 100 organizations has initiated a new Poor People’s Campaign (PPC).
This event and film will highlight the demands of the new Poor People's Campaign as it challenges the nation's distorted morality that blames the victim and divides our nation and will share the findings of the investigation and personal stories of regular folk. We will provide suggestions for what YOU can do to help.
Go to the PPC website (www.poorpeoplescampaign.org) for a link to where you can go to "The Souls of Poor Folk" report and sign up to join our movement to transform the political, economic and moral structures of our country.
