Forum: Whose Water? Our Water?

||Clean water is an essential human right and an ecological necessity, yet it is threatened by the callous disregard for our health by the oil extraction industry and agribusiness, as well as privatization.
Sal Sandoval, MD, MPH, of Merced, a long time health provider and advocate for the poor, the homeless, farm workers, and the protection of the environment. Dr. Sandoval wrote a booklet entitled The Politics of Water and the Drought in California.
Mary and Andy Hsia-Coron of Aromas, leaders of the successful 2014 Measure J campaign to ban fracking and high intensity petroleum extraction in San Benito County, and also Measure Z to ban fracking and ensure other water protections in Monterey County, which passed in 2016 but has been challenged in court.
Also featuring local speakers on the necessity of clean water for the homeless, and updates on the recent Twin Tunnels vote by the Santa Clara Valley Water District and the Standing Rock Water Protectors.
