||Please join us at our next meeting on Thursday, June 21st at 7:00 PM in the farmhouse at St. Jude's Episcopal Church, 20920 McClellan Road, Cupertino. Note that it's not our usual meeting place! (Signs will be posted.)
Israel's actions continue to require an urgent reponse on our part, both to stop the shooting of unarmed protesters on the March to Return in Gaza and to increase pressure against the upcoming demolition of the community of Kahn al-Ahmar, in order to clear the way for the construction of 92 Israeli houses. The Israeli Supreme Court has approved the demolition orders of the community, but past international protests have proved successful in stopping similar orders.
We will strategize about how to combat the congressional Anti-Semitism Awareness Act, also known as the "Silencing Students Act", which would direct the Dept. of Education and Dept. of Justice to use a definition of anti-Semitism that conflates pro-Palestinian activism and criticsm of the Israeli government with anti-Semitism. We'll also plan how to fight the "Responding to Hate on Campus" funding proposal in Sacramento - yet another smokescreen for the repression of activism for justice in Palestine.
Know that your participation is truly needed and appreciated at this critical time!
