Dear Friends of the Peace & Justice Center and the Collins Foundation,
In the past year we have been reeling at the attacks on our democracy, the assaults on our diverse community, the escalating threat of war, and the worldwide impact of climate chaos. On the national and international levels, the situation is dire.Read more...
#GivingTuesday kicks off the charitable season, when many focus on their holiday and end-of-year giving. Since its inaugural year in 2012, #GivingTuesday has become a movement that celebrates and supports giving and philanthropy with events throughout the year and a growing catalog of resources.
The San José Peace and Justice Center is participating in #GivingTuesday to continue to be a resource to the local grassroots organizations that operate through the center and to communities in the South Bay. For the first time, we are joining in with #GivingTuesday to help our year-end fundraising efforts. This year we pledge to give peace and invite each of you to join us. Stay tuned for more activities. Please click the large "DONATE" button on the right panel to donate online in order to provide these resources to the community. (You do not have to wait for November 28th.)
You can also mail in your year-end donations to: San Jose Peace & Justice Center, 48 S. 7th Street, San Jose, CA 95112.
Please consider a bequest to SJPJC as part of your estate plan. There's no minimum amount required. In fact, you can specify any dollar amount, leave a percentage of your estate, or designate what remains after your estate has been settled. Here's some sample language:

Gertrude Welch was known to many of us in the South Bay for her devotion to peace and justice activities. When she and her husband George died in 2007 they remembered eight organizations in their will.
The San Jose Peace and Justice Center's share was $59,510. This wonderful gift will form the basis of an endowment fund for the future of the Center.
