On June 11, I started my internship at the San Jose Peace and Justice Center. To say the least, I was apprehensive; living in the privileged bubble of Almaden Valley, I felt like I would not have enough experience to contribute to this amazing center. I am grateful to report that nearly a month after starting, I have already felt like I have been able to make huge contributions to the center. Whether it be from updating our weekly newsletter to inform you about our events or assisting with the community dinner, it has been so gratifying to work with a team so passionate about social justice and improving our South Bay community.Read more...

Support 60 years of nonviolent social change! Pledge a monthly gift to the San Jose Peace and Justice Center to support our educational programs and war resistance work. We are counting on you to create a reliable income from which to continue our work, plan future endeavors and continue to grow.
Our hope is that to commemorate our 60 years of activism, 60 supporters will sign up to be sustainers, making a contribution of at least $10/month. This pledge can conveniently be done on-line, mailed in or dropped off.
Your tax-deductible donations are critical to our ongoing work for peace and social justice. Note that the Donate button takes you to the page for the Collins Foundation, our fiscal sponsor. This ensures that your donation is tax-deductible.

We have a new volunteer application and it's easy enough to do online!!
For our 60 years of activity, we have remained mostly a volunteer-run organization. We need more volunteers to help us at the Center. From office skills to tabling outreach, writing to graphic design, your time is a valued addition to what we do. We need local people who can volunteer in the office and at events.
Fill out your application and let us know what position(s) you are interested in. We look forward to having you as part of our team!!
The Coordinating Council of the Peace & Justice Center calls on its members to sign on to the Defense of All Families Pledge. With candidates for Congress and the White House promising to fight against recognizing GLBTQ families, we need a more inclusive and welcoming pledge. Our friends at Reach And Teach have put together a wonderfully inclusive statement.
The immediate goal over the next month is to get over 10,000 signatures and we can use your help by signing the pledge and preading the word. Click the link below to read and sign the pledge: http://www.reachandteach.com/s/doafp
